An accident waiting to happen

THE EDITOR, Madam:
There is an accident waiting to happen in the Half-Way Tree area and certainly, I don’t want to be there when it does.
I speak of the danger to which commuters and passers-by are exposed by the continued behaviour of transport operators in loading passengers into their vehicles at service stations in the area. While this happens in other areas throughout the country, I travel through Half-Way Tree on a daily basis, thus my fear.
Prior to the election in 2025, there was a pronouncement by Minister Daryl Vaz that work would have been done to bring this activity to an end through legislative changes. To date, this has not happened, and no doubt, we run the risk of an incident occurring before anything is done.
Can the Government be proactive in addressing this matter? Otherwise, procrastination will not only be the thief of time, but the loss of lives.
