For many, the emotional bond we share with our homes can be as intense as the affection we hold for our loved ones.

This engaging home in a gated Hanover community is no different. Spanning 14,000 square feet of elegant living space across six acres, it was built on the brow of a hill, offering sweeping views of the sea on the horizon.

The fruit-filled estate boasts an abundance of palm trees, representing 29 different species. The lengthy vanishing-edge swimming pool, surrounded by a teak wood sun deck and a seating pergola, sits several stone steps below the main house. A private putting green offers added convenience for improving your golf skills. An outdoor yoga area and separate sauna and steam rooms offer holistic health benefits. The children’s playground echoes with laughter.

Inside, another wellness facility is revealed, including a spa with a Turkish bath. The cinema, with its mega-sized 153-inch screen, 16 motorised reclining seats with armrests, and a commercial popcorn machine, creates the perfect movie-going experience. There is also a games room for entertainment and social interaction, as well as a gym for safe and controlled exercise. There is much to take in.

There is nothing quite like the mood created by a bedroom with its own furnished patio or balcony, extending the living space outdoors. The home, complete with a two-storey self-contained guest cottage, features seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, each featuring walk-in showers and spa tubs.

The living and dining rooms open onto the sea-fronting 67-foot verandah through wide-open French doors, while the interiors are brought to life by artwork from the owner’s international travels. The owners are so deeply in love with this home that parting with it would feel like losing a piece of themselves.
