The Jamaica Bankers Association says some ABMs in specific locations have been temporarily decommissioned due to safety concerns as part of preparation plans by member institutions for the passage of Hurricane Melissa.

The association, in a media release on Monday, did not give details on the locations of the affected ABMs.

However, it said member institutions are monitoring conditions associated with Hurricane Melissa and will restore branch and all ABM services as soon as it is safe to do so.

All member bank and building society branches will remain closed today until conditions are confirmed safe to reopen.

Customers are being encouraged to continue to use online and mobile banking channels where possible.

Call centre and customer support availability may be limited and response times extended while weather conditions persist.
