Police thwart attempted robbery of wholesale in Montego Bay

The St James police on Monday thwarted an attempted robbery of a wholesale on Church Street in Montego Bay.

The police say there was a shoot-out, and the men fled the scene, leaving behind two guns.

According to the police, around 6:00 p.m., cops on patrol were alerted to a robbery in progress and went to the area.

The police say that upon arrival, the men opened fire at them and that the fire was returned.

The men fled the area.

The police say two guns were subsequently found.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The police say they will continue to maintain their presence in downtown Montego Bay.
