Energy Minister Daryl Vaz is urging Jamaicans not to panic buy or store large amounts of fuel as there is enough supply in Jamaica.

There have been long lines at gas stations in parishes in parishes badly hit by the storm, with complaints of waiting for hours.

Speaking at a special press briefing at Jamaica House on Monday Vaz noted that Petrojam sustained no major damage during Hurricane Melissa and the refinery has extended opening hours.

He said marketing companies are delivering fuel islandwide.

Vaz also said there is enough aviation fuel in the island.
