The Island Traffic Authority says it has been forced to temporarily relocate some of its services from its Maxfield Avenue location due to damage from Hurricane Melissa.
The services of vehicle engravement and forensics, customs verification, post-shipment inspection and certification of driving instructors and driving schools have been moved to the authority’s head office on Grenada Way in New Kingston.
So too have applications for the certification of government drivers, removal of endorsements on driver’s licences, and retrieval of driver’s licences previously suspended and disqualified.
Amid the move, some services will remain at the Maxfield Avenue location.
They are the processing of substitute driver’s licences, application and processing of driving abstracts, and the processing of name change on driver’s licences.
The authority says it remains committed to minimizing disruption and ensuring the continued delivery of services to the motoring public.
