Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising taxpayers that the due date for filing returns for consumption taxes, such as General Consumption Tax (GCT), Special Consumption Tax (SCT), Telephone Call Tax (TCT), and Guest Accommodation Room Tax (GART), for the month of September has been extended, arising from the impact of Hurricane Melissa.

The original due date was October 31, but it has been moved to Friday, November 28

With the extension, TAJ says taxpayers will not face penalties for late filing and payment.

The tax authority says the Consumption Tax returns for October 2025 are also due on November 28.

Therefore, taxpayers will file and pay both September and October returns to meet the November 28 deadline.

Taxpayers are reminded that filing is mandatory online on TAJ’s website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.

The TAJ is encouraging taxpayers to make use of this additional time to ensure that their filings are accurate and complete.
