The Flow Foundation on Saturday brought much-needed relief and hope to several communities in Montego Bay following the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa. With homes damaged, trees uprooted, and personal essentials scarce, the foundation, supported by its parent company Liberty Latin America through the Liberty Caribbean Foundation, stepped in to provide care and comfort to those most affected.

A team of more than 60 dedicated Flow employee volunteers visited the communities of Granville, Flankers, and Barrett Town, distributing care packages and offering free SIM cards to help residents reconnect with loved ones and access vital information. Care packages were also provided for the community of Cambridge, which was marooned as a result of the storm. Throughout the visits, residents shared stories of both loss and resilience, painting a picture of communities determined to rebuild.

“This gesture from Flow has been a real blessing,” said a resident of Granville who gave her name as Marcia. “After days without power and limited communication, just knowing people care enough to show up, listen, and help means more than words can say.”

In addition to aiding families, the foundation extended support to the dedicated men and women of the Freeport Police Station, providing care packages as a token of appreciation for their ongoing service to the communities during the crisis.
