The Government is to deploy 10 mobile fuel stations to parishes facing shortages amid Hurricane Melissa.
Energy Minister Daryl Vaz says the deployment will happen on Monday, noting that the stations will be powered by generators and supported by personnel from the Jamaica Defence Force and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management.
In addition to fuel, the stations will also have kerosene available.
Vaz said efforts remain ongoing in getting more gas stations in affected areas operational.
He was speaking at a press conference at Jamaica House in St Andrew on Thursday.
