'Pussman' killed in alleged shootout with police in Spanish Town

One of three men who allegedly fired at police in Spanish Town on Friday morning was fatally shot, and an illegal firearm was seized, the police have reported.
The two other men reportedly escaped.
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Romario Goldson, otherwise called ‘Pussman,’ of Featherbed Lane, Spanish Town in St. Catherine.
According to reports, around 8:15 a.m., personnel from the St. Catherine North Specialized Operations Branch, armed with a search warrant, went to Featherbed Lane in search of individuals suspected of breaching the Firearms Act and other offences.
Upon entering a premises, three armed men, including Goldson, allegedly jumped through a rear door and over a perimeter fence. They reportedly fired at police officers, who returned fire.
After the shooting subsided, Goldson was found with apparent gunshot wounds.
Police recovered a Taurus 9MM pistol with a magazine containing four rounds of ammunition from his possession.
Goldson was transported to Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Independent Commission of Investigation has launched a probe into the incident.
