Soldier detained by police as part of ongoing criminal probe

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) is reporting that a service member has been arrested by the police as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

The JDF did not provide details on the investigation against the soldier.

The army said the member was detained with the full knowledge and cooperation of the JDF.

It said the JDF continues to cooperate fully and provide all necessary support to the police in the matter.

“The JDF remains firmly committed to the highest standards of discipline, accountability, and service to the people of Jamaica, and reassures the public that the matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness.”
