21-year-old St Ann man charged for stealing woman’s car by trick

A 21-year-old man from St Ann has been charged after allegedly tricking a woman and stealing her vehicle.
Joel Nelson of Beechamville, Claremont, is charged with larceny by trick and driving away a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
Reports from the St Ann’s Bay police indicate that about 3:28 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, Nelson approached a woman in a parking lot and told her that her rear tyre was flat.
When the woman exited the vehicle to check, Nelson reportedly entered the car and drove away.
He later collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander on the Beechamville main road, was apprehended by the police, and subsequently charged.
His court date is being finalised.
