The Clarendon police have launched a homicide investigation into the death of a man, believed to have been mentally ill, following a series of bizarre events in May Pen on Friday.
The deceased has been identified only by the alias 'George Pang.'
Police said Pang was allegedly struck with a piece of a concrete block by another man, who is also believed to be mentally ill.
In an attempt to escape, Pang reportedly crawled onto the Manchester Avenue roadway, where he was run over by a motor vehicle. The driver reportedly did not stop.
About 5:50 a.m., residents reportedly discovered the man lying motionless in a pool of blood and alerted the police.
Officers who responded said the deceased had an open wound to one foot and severe head injuries, with the left side of the head appeared to have been bashed in.
