The police are warning members of the public to exercise caution when purchasing goat meat especially in the Mile Gully area of Manchester, following the alleged theft of 35 goats from a local farm.
"Members of the public should note that the animals were recently treated with chemicals, which makes them unfit for consumption and will pose serious health risks," the police said in a statement on Saturday.
The Agricultural Protection Branch Area 3 team reports that the animals were stolen between 5 p.m. on Thursday and 5 p.m. on Friday.
The police say members of the public should be vigilant, as the investigation into this matter is ongoing.
