Event promoter shot dead in St Mary

A well-known event promoter was shot and killed in Robins Bay, St Mary, on Monday night, marking the second murder in the parish for the day, according to the police.
The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Kemoy Finley, otherwise called 'Walkin’ Bank' or 'Turbo', of Highgate, St Mary.
Police said that about 9:35 p.m., Finley was attacked by gunmen and shot. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators reported that Finley’s motor vehicle was stolen following the shooting.
Finley was widely known in entertainment circles as an event promoter and also operated a chartered taxi service.
“A March 7 him big party fi keep and now a funeral planning. Nobody saw this coming,” said an assoicate of Finley, who did not want to be named.
Finley’s death came hours after another fatal shooting in the parish.
Earlier on Monday morning, a man was gunned down at his home in Boscobel.
The victim was identified as 59-year-old businessman Garfield Singh, who operated Singh’s Tyre Sales, Service and Repair.
The two killings have heightened concern among residents as detectives continue investigations into both incidents.
No arrests have been made in either case.
As at February 7 last year, the St Mary police division recorded three murders in the division.
