St Catherine police seek public help to locate illegal Haitian residents

Senior Superintendent Hopton Nicholson, head of the St Catherine North Division, on Thursday appealed to councillors of the St Catherine Municipal Corporation for information to help authorities apprehend illegal Haitians residing in the parish

He disclosed at a council meeting that the police have information indicating that undocumented Haitians are being harboured communities.

We have arrested more than 30,but we are aware that there are others here,as persons seem to make it a business. It revealed that even when they in transit, they (the Haitians) are being house and we need help in capturing them to have them do the right thing

“We have arrested more than 30, but we are aware that there are others here, as some seem to make it a business,” SSP Nicholson said. “Even when they are in transit, they are being housed, and we need help capturing them.”

He also noted that murders in the division are down by 50 per cent, with three recorded so far this year compared to six during the same period last year.

SSP Nicholson said that housebreaking and larceny, including motor vehicle theft, are the main concerns.
