Dear Mr. Bassie,

I have discovered a mistake on my eVisa and I would like to know what the procedure is for correcting this.

Thanks in advance.

P.E.

Dear P.E.,

Persons should report an error with their eVisa if the eVisa details are wrong – for example it shows the wrong date of birth or immigration status or if persons can view their eVisa but they are unable to use it to get a share code. Another error could be that the holder cannot view their eVisa because of a technical error when they are signed into their UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account.

Other issues that might present could be that the Home Office set up the holder’s UKVI account and they have never been able to sign in to it. Persons with the error will need to give an email or UK postal address that UKVI can use to contact them and also provide their name, date of birth and nationality.

Persons who report that their name, date or birth or nationality are wrong, will need to give them as they appear in their eVisa. They will also be asked to give one of the following:

• passport number

• expired biometric residence permit (BRP) number

• global web form (GWF) number from your visa application

• unique application number (UAN) from your visa application.

Please be aware that persons should not report an error if there is a different way to:

• update their UKVI account details – for example to change their name, address, email address, passport details or photo;

• recover their UKVI account if they are having problems signing in; or

• prove that they have pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, if the eVisa shows their other immigration status

Just for completeness, persons should be informed that they can ask someone else to report an error for them. For example, they could ask a legal representative; an employer; a friend or colleague; or a member of staff at a university or charity.

I hope this helps.
