The police said officers recovered a Kanuni S firearm fitted with a magazine containing one live 9mm round at a house in Cave Valley, Green Island.
All eight occupants are expected to be jointly charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition, the police statement said.
The joint operation, part of an ongoing crime-fighting initiative, was led by divisional Commanding Officer Superintendent Andrew Nish and Operations Officer Deputy Superintendent Dean Watson, according to the statement posted on X on Tuesday.
They had support from the Special Operations Unit, the Area Fugitive Apprehension Team, the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, and other departments.
