Gleaner photographer Rudolph Brown was among six veteran journalists honoured today by the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) for their contributions to the profession.

They were recognised at the Veterans Awards luncheon, one of the events being staged by the PAJ for the 2025 National Journalism Week.

Hurricane Melissa had forced the postponement of the association’s National Journalism Week from last November.

Brown, who has photographed every prime minister of Jamaica, has served the profession for close to 40 years.

The other veterans honoured were broadcasters Simone Clarke and Marline Stephenson-Daley; Pete Sankey of the Jamaica Observer; and Kingsley ‘Super T’ Thompson of CVM TV.

Head of News and Sports at the RJRGLEANER Communications Group, Milton Walker, who is also the PAJ’s immediate past president, was taken by surprise when it was announced during the luncheon that he would also be honoured for his nearly 35 years as a journalist.
