A British woman, Kamarra Fraser-Munroe, who was allegedly held with cocaine at one of Jamaica's airports, was granted bail in the sum of $1 million on Tuesday.
She was granted bail following an application by her attorney, Able-Don Foote, in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
The allegations are that on April 3, Fraser-Munroe was scheduled to depart the Norman Manley International Airport on a British Airways flight to London.
Port security became suspicious of her luggage after a routine scan and alerted the police who subsequently requested a search, to which she consented.
A search of her luggage allegedly revealed Easter buns and slippers containing approximately six pounds of cocaine.
She was subsequently charged with possession of, dealing in, attempting to export and conspiracy to export cocaine.
During the application for bail her attorney submitted that although his client was a foreign national she was not a flight risk due to the fact that she came into the country by lawful means.
He further argued that she surrendered her British passport to the police on the day of the incident.
Parish judge Alwayne Smith granted bail in keeping with the presumption of innocence and ordered her to report every Tuesdays and Fridays to the Hunts Bay police.
Fraser-Munroe is to return to court on July 13 for case management.
