Through the longstanding Tru-Juice 5K Run/Walk partnership, CB Chicken recently donated 10 cases of chicken to the Linstead Public Hospital, helping to support an institution that provides critical healthcare services to thousands of residents across Linstead and the surrounding communities.

For more than a decade, the Tru-Juice 5K has united partners, participants, and supporters around a common goal - strengthening the hospital's ability to serve its community. As a partner of the initiative, CB Chicken said it continues to contribute to that mission through both event support and direct community investment.

The donation is expected to assist the hospital's meal programme, helping to provide nutritious meals for patients and staff while supporting the hospital's ongoing operations.

Camile Wallen-Panton, CEO of the Linstead Public Hospital, welcomed the donation and highlighted its impact on the institution.

"The donation of chicken to the hospital is greatly appreciated and warmly welcomed. Such a contribution plays an important role in supporting the wellbeing of our patients and staff, and it was very timely at this time of the year."

Wallen-Panton noted that the ongoing partnership continues to create meaningful benefits for the hospital and the people it serves.

"The partnership between CB Chicken and the Linstead Public Hospital has continued to grow stronger over the years. This donation helps us meet the nutritional needs of our patients while also supporting staff welfare. Contributions like these allow us to focus resources on other critical areas of care while continuing to provide the level of service our community depends on. We are grateful for their continued investment in the wellbeing of the people we serve and their commitment to supporting healthcare in a meaningful way."

For Samantha Fisher, assistant brand manager at CB Foods, the initiative reflects the company's belief that good food can play a meaningful role in supporting healthier communities.

"As a producer of safe, quality protein, we understand the important role nutrition plays in overall health and recovery. We wanted to make a difference in a way that could have an immediate impact, and through this donation we're helping to support the hospital's ability to provide nourishing meals to patients and staff while contributing to the important work they do every day."

Fisher added that the donation is part of CB Chicken's broader commitment to supporting the communities it serves.

"Community support isn't a one-time effort; it's something that requires consistency. After seeing the impact our donation had last year, it was important for us to return and continue supporting the Linstead Public Hospital. At CB Chicken, our mantra is ‘Eat. Live. Love. Do Better.’, and that means showing up for the people and institutions working every day to improve lives and strengthen our communities."

The initiative also reflects the longstanding relationship between CB Foods and Trade Winds Citrus, manufacturers of Tru-Juice. Beyond the annual 5K, the two companies have collaborated for years on programmes such as PAN, creating opportunities to support entrepreneurs, strengthen communities, and drive meaningful impact.

Lauren Lechler, marketing manager at Trade Winds Citrus, said the partnership continues to demonstrate what can be achieved when organisations come together around a common goal.

"CB Chicken has been a valued partner of the Tru-Juice 5K, helping us extend the impact of the event beyond race day and into the wider community."

Lechler said the donation reflects the shared purpose that has guided the relationship between the two organisations.

"This contribution to the Linstead Public Hospital reflects the values that have defined our partnership over the years. Whether through the Tru-Juice 5K or initiatives like PAN, we've consistently found opportunities to work together to support the communities we serve and create meaningful, lasting impact."

As the Tru-Juice 5K continues to unite Jamaicans in support of the Linstead Public Hospital, partnerships like these demonstrate the power of collaboration to create meaningful change. Through the coming together of A Better Tasting Chicken and The Juice of Jamaica, CB Chicken and Tru-Juice continue to show how businesses can make a lasting difference in the communities they serve.
