A 51-year-old St Ann man has been charged for the stabbing murder of his former girlfriend, whose body was found along a dirt track in the Capture Land community of Mammee Bay last month.
Charged is Conross Hylton, otherwise called 'Rasta' and 'Spragga', a higgler of Mammee Bay Estate.
The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Jestice Howell, otherwise called 'Nooks', a vendor of Capture Land.
The police report that about 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, Hylton, who allegedly shared a previous relationship with Howell, visited her home.
Howell reportedly went outside to meet him, after which an altercation developed between the two, the police reported.
During the dispute, Hylton allegedly used a ratchet to stab Howell in the neck before fleeing the scene in a Toyota Hiace bus.
The police were alerted and, on arrival, found Howell lying face down in blood along a dirt track in the community.
She was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The police said Hylton turned himself in to the police on Monday, June 29, about 6:00 p.m. in the company of his attorney.
He was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with Howell's death.
His court date is being finalised.
