A walk through Scripture: Life-size tabernacle opens in Kingston

For the first time in Jamaica, the ancient tabernacle built by Moses will be recreated at full scale and opened to the public. This immersive walk-through exhibition features sacred instruments that have shaped religious history for more than 3,000 years.

Visitors will see and touch replicas of the golden lampstand, the Altar of Incense, and the Ark of the Covenant, each built to the exact specifications given to Moses in the Old Testament. The exhibition will run September 15-16, 2026, at the Jamaica Conference Centre, 14-20 Port Royal Street, Kingston, as part of Christian Leaders Fellowship (CLF) Caribbean’s second annual Caribbean Conference.

According to CLF Caribbean Director Pastor Joshua Park, the exhibition is more than a display of historical artefacts.

“Most people have read about the Tabernacle, but very few have had the opportunity to walk through it. We wanted to give Jamaica, and the wider Caribbean, a chance to experience firsthand the setting where the story of God dwelling among His people first came alive and to better understand why every detail mattered,” he said.

Visitors can explore the exhibition daily from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Guided tours will include live dramatisations featuring costumed guides portraying Levite priests administering the sin offering.

The experience continues in the evening with the Jamaica Gospel Celebration, a free concert of praise and worship beginning at 6 p.m. The event will feature The Hummingbirds Choir and other local gospel artistes. Organisers describe the concert as a natural extension of the exhibition rather than a separate event. Just as the Tabernacle symbolised God’s presence among His people, the evening of worship aims to bring that same spirit into the present day.
