Three men charged in St Ann robbery spree

A 19-year-old is among three men charged by the police in St Ann in relation to recent robberies.

They are Maleke McLeod, otherwise called ‘Egg Head’, 20-year-old Rockeme Stone, otherwise called ‘Wacky’, and 21-year-old Dominiq Gayle, all of Ocho Rios, St Ann.

They are charged with robbery with aggravation, conspiracy to commit robbery with aggravation, assault at common law, possession of a prohibited weapon, using a firearm to commit a felony, using a firearm to commit a scheduled offence, being part of a criminal organisation, and participating in the commission of a serious offence by a criminal organisation.

The police report that about 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, men travelling in a white Toyota Axio motor car entered a gaming lounge in Pineapple, Ocho Rios, pointed a firearm at the bartender, and robbed her of cash and an assortment of liquor before escaping in the waiting vehicle.

The police also reported that in a separate incident, which occurred at 4:00 p.m. on the same day, the white Toyota Axio again pulled up at a mini-mart in Coconut Grove.

Two men reportedly exited the motor car, with one brandishing a handgun, which was used to rob the establishment.

On Tuesday, September 22, the accused men were apprehended.

The police say the men were subsequently charged following a question-and-answer session.

According to the police, they reportedly confessed to the crimes.
