Following their opening 3-0 win over Bonaire in Group B of the Concacaf Men’s U20 Qualifiers, the U20 Reggae Boyz will turn their attention to the Turks and Caicos Islands today.
Jamaica will face Turks and Caicos in the final game of a triple header at the Stadion Rignaal ‘Jean’ Francisca at 7 p.m. Jamaica time.
The young Reggae Boyz will be hunting their second consecutive win at the tournament as they hope to maintain their spot atop the group standings.
The Boyz comfortably dispatched Bonaire in their opening game with goals from Sean Leighton, Deshawn Talbert, and Raequan Campbell-Dennis leading the way.
They lead the group on goal difference, being tied on three points apiece with Puerto Rico and Turks and Caicos.
Turks and Caicos, a British territory, are similarly hunting their second win in a row after a 2-1 win over the Cayman Islands.
They had to dig deep to get past Cayman after falling behind in that contest but found the goals to pull off the comeback win.
Jamaica, the top seed in the group, will enter the contest as heavy favourites.
They, however, will be without midfielder Jamoy Dennis, who picked up two yellow cards in the opening game and has been suspended for today’s match.
Also in Group B action, St Kitts and Nevis will take on the Cayman Islands in the opening game of the triple header before Puerto Rico face off against Bonaire.
The winner of the group will advance to the Concacaf Men’s U20 Championship, where they will join the six pre-seeded teams from the region.
The U20 Championship will serve as the qualification tournament for the 2027 FIFA Men’s U20 World Cup as well as the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
