Waterhouse continue their march up the Jamaica Premier League table after a hard-fought win over Harbour View at the Harbour View Stadium yesterday.
Waterhouse captain Ky-mani Campbell scored a brilliant last-minute goal for the visitors, with the game seemingly heading for a draw.
The win pushed Waterhouse a place up to fourth, after Racing United fell 4-1 to leaders Montego Bay United. Racing are now fifth after Portmore United's 2-0 win over Chapelton Maroons at Turners Oval.
Waterhouse coach Javier Ainstein praised his team for their resilience and his captain for his leadership and quality.
"Today was a very difficult match. We know Harbour View is playing relegation. They have some players that are giving everything, but, at the end, we have good players on the field and good players on the bench and we finished good."
Concerning Campbell he added, "When you have this type of player, you have to enjoy, because some day he can play overseas.
"We enjoy having Ky-mani being our captain and he has the quality to play from the back, to cross, to finish. He is a relevant player not just for Waterhouse, but for the league.
"He leads by personality and by example, and he has a very strong impact on the squad," Ainstein commented.
The home team showed much of the early initiative, until Waterhouse came into their own after the 15th-minute mark.
However, the game soon balanced out and the first real chance fell to Neron Barrow, who blasted over the top from inside the area, after a good link-up play with Denardo Thomas.
Rohan Brown had a great chance for Harbour View moments later but placed his shot wide of the mark.
Barrow had another great chance in the 35th minute but could not keep his header low enough.
However, the chance of the game fell to Harbour View's Rushane Thompson, but he kicked wildly over from 10 yards.
Early in the second half, Barrow stole possession inside the area but kicked into the side netting. The striker had another good chance on 60 minutes, but again headed over from close range.
Harbour View's Roderick Granville had a glorious chance in the 68th minute but could not apply a firm enough touch, two yards from goal.
A minute later Thompson slammed a shot against the post from 18 yards, while Reid's low shot was saved seven minutes from the end.
However, Waterhouse would grab all three points at the death. Goalkeeper Garwin Davis did well to parry Javane Bryan's brilliant shot, but the rebound fell to Campbell who drove an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper from an impossible angle for the winner.
Harbour View coach Lenworth Hyde was disappointed on many fronts.
"We should have at least got a point out of this game. The Waterhouse team played a resilient game right through. They kept us on the back foot for most parts. We were discipline in defence for most of the game. It's just the last part we lapsed
"We created a lot of chances and didn't put them away, and when you don't score, anything can happen."
Harbour View remain three points above the relegation zone with 33 points.
