Professional Football Jamaica Limited (PFJL) is facing a more than $100 million lawsuit from its broadcast sponsor Pivott LLC.
The claim alleges that the PFJL, which is charged with the operation of the local Jamaica Premier League (JPL), breached its contract with Pivott LLC, leading to financial damages, a loss in reputation and an outstanding balance of US$207,000.
Pivott is seeking an injunction to stop the PFJL from further breaches of contract, among other claims.
Pivott were announced as the new broadcast partners of the JPL in August last year, after the departure of Sportsmax.
