Bobsled brakeman Tyquendo Tracey is back on the track, the sprinter making the Jamaican team to the Senior Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Games, to be held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from August 2-8.
From the old to the new, national senior women's 100m hurdles champion Demisha Roswell also makes the 31-member team to the CAC Games.
The team is made up of 19 men and 12 women, selected by the executive of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA).
Roswell created a massive upset at the National Junior and Senior Championships when she won the women's 100m hurdles title in a personal best 12.40 seconds, the fastest time by a Jamaican in the event this season. It will be the first national selection for Roswell, who will be joined in the event by Ohio State University senior Janella Spencer, who finished fourth at the championships in 12.75 seconds.
Krystal Sloley of the University of Technology and Natasha Morrison of MVP Track Club will contest the 100 metres, while Edwin Allen High schoolgirl Kelly-Ann Carr will compete in both the 400m and 400m hurdles.
Romario Stewart of The Mico University College, like Roswell, will be making his first national team after finishing second in the men's 400m hurdles. Stewart was a surprise second-place finisher behind winner Assinie Wilson.
Tracy will contest the men's 200 metres, where he will be joined by Kadrian Goldson of Sprintec Track Club.
