MUNICH (AP):
Bayern Munich were still yet to provide an update yesterday on the condition of Jamal Musiala, who collapsed the previous day during a friendly against Leipzig.
The 23‑year‑old midfielder fell to the turf shortly before the end of the match, prompting immediate concern from teammates as medical staff rushed to his aid. They attended to him on the field before one staff member signalled reassurance with a thumbs‑up.
Musiala was able to walk off unaided and make his way down the steps into the players’ tunnel, though he appeared dazed, according to news agency DPA.
“The main thing is that he’s OK,” Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said several hours later. However, the club offered no further details on Musiala’s condition or what may have caused the collapse.
High temperatures may have been a factor, with Munich recording more than 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit) at the time of the match.
The Associated Press requested an update from Bayern on Musiala’s condition, but the club had not responded several hours later.
