Run Julie Run looks to be getting back to her best. Run Julie Run looks to be getting back to her best.

RUN JULIE RUN should dominate her local-bred peers for a second consecutive event, Saturday’s Poorlittlerichgirl, rid of imported runners, who had outclassed her in five races from May of last year until she placed third behind MOJITO and GIRVANO in November’s Jamaica Cup.

Sent off as a 2-5 favourite in the December 6 Chairman’s Plate with Javier Castellano on Mouttet Mile Day, RUN JULIE RUN was spent, attempting her 68th furlong in roughly eight months, resulting in a dour fifth-place finish behind BLUE VINYL, SHEER DELIGHT and PROVIDENT at nine furlongs and 25 yards.

Returning six months later, making her 2026 debut on June 20, RUN JULIE RUN placed a creditable third behind sprinters DIGITAL ONE and DOTHRAKI before being unsaddled in the winner’s enclosure on July 18, looking every bit her old self in clocking 1:52.2 at nine furlongs and 25 yards.

Having taken out overnight-allowance runners in July, RUN JULIE RUN steps a rung up the condition ladder to face open-allowance opposition. However, the 2024 Jamaica Derby runner-up has already beaten the level, cruising against INSPIRE FORCE and NEO STAR in April 2025.

Trainer Peter-John Parsard’s confidence cannot be any more obvious than him summoning Reyan Lewis to ride at 122lb as opposed to eight-pound claimer Emelio McLean, who was listed on the overnight programme.

Though clocked on a track running fast since May, RUN JULIE RUN’s 1:52.2 puts her among grade-one company, which she should graduate to after outpacing DON KWESI and back-to-form SUPREMASI at an ideal trip of seven and a half furlongs.
