Port Antonio High student arrested after fatal stabbing in Portland

A male student from Port Antonio High in Portland, is in custody following the fatal stabbing of another male on Monday.

According to police reports, shortly after 4 p.m., an altercation developed between a group of boys in the vicinity of a sanitary facility on Foreshore Road, Port Antonio.

It is understood that the boys were seen gambling behind the facility when a dispute arose between them. 

Three of the students allegedly left and later returned with three adults, including the now deceased. 

The police say the group attacked the 15-year-old student, who used a knife to stab one of the males. 

The injured person was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The student was subsequently arrested.

Investigations are being carried out by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Branch in Port Antonio.
