21-y-o charged over imitation gun seized at party in St Mary

A 21-year-old St Mary man has been charged by the police over the seizure of an imitation gun in Stewart Town.

Travis Shearer was charged on Wednesday with possession of a prohibited weapon.

Reports are that about 12:45 a.m., lawmen were on patrol in the community when they heard noises coming from a section of the community and went to investigate.

Upon their arrival, Shearer was seen among a group of patrons at a party acting in a manner that aroused the

suspicion of the police.

He was accosted and searched, and an imitation firearm was retrieved from his waistband.

Shearer was taken into custody and formally charged.

His court date is being finalised.
