A 56-year-old St Catherine taxi driver was found guilty on Monday of raping a passenger during trip in 2021.
The jury in the St Catherine Circuit Court also found him guilty of forcible abduction, indecent assault and grievous sexual assault.
He was remanded in custody pending sentencing, which is scheduled for March 20. His name has not be made public to protect the woman's identity.
The prosecution led evidence that in October 2021, the man picked up the then 19-year-old woman in St Catherine and was travelling towards Half-Way Tree, St Andrew when he diverted from the route and sexually assaulted her.
Prosecutors said the man pressed an object to the complainant’s side before raping her.
A report was subsequently made to the police, and investigations were carried out by the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse.
The man was later arrested and charged with rape.
