Popular music producer Jahvel ‘Jhavy Ambassador’ Morrison, who has been detained in connection with Sunday’s shooting at the Big Wall party, is to be either charged or released by 6 p.m. today by the police.
The order was made by Parish Judge Alicia McIntosh in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court following a habeas corpus application filed by attorneys Sayeed Bernard and Richard Lynch, who are representing Morrison alongside King’s Counsel Peter Champagnie.
Bernard said his client is to face a question-and-answer session today.
Morrison was taken into custody after a shooting incident at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre during the staging of the Big Wall party on Sunday night.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, a dispute between patrons escalated into a gunfight at approximately 9:30 p.m., leaving three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Popular vlogger Jhadee Richards, also known as ‘Jaii Frais’, was among those injured and was taken into police custody.
Police reported that two firearms were seized in connection with the incident.
One of the injured men has since been treated and released into custody, while the other two remain hospitalised.
The investigation is being led by the Half-Way Tree Criminal Investigation Branch.
Richards was also taken into custody as part of the ongoing probe.
His attorneys also went to court today and obtained an order for the police to either charge or release him by 6 p.m.
