Car crashes into fuel pump, sparks fire at St Andrew gas station

An emergency unfolded at a Texaco service station on Constant Spring Road in St Andrew on Tuesday afternoon after a motor vehicle crashed into a fuel pump and triggered a fire.
The extent of any injuries, including to the female driver, is not immediately known.
Preliminary reports indicate that shortly before 4 p.m., the vehicle that had just entered the premises from Mannings Hill Road suddenly accelerated and slammed into one of the pumps.
The impact sparked a fire, prompting staff and security personnel to respond quickly with fire extinguishers and bring the blaze under control before emergency personnel arrived.
The Jamaica Fire Brigade and the police responded to the scene, with firefighters conducting safety checks while investigators examined the circumstances surrounding the crash.
