JCF mourns constable killed in Westmoreland collision

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) High Command is expressing condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the policeman who died in a two-vehicle collision on the Farm Pen main road in Westmoreland early Saturday morning.
He has been identified as 37-year-old Constable Chadrick Cooke of Hertford district in the parish.
The police say the Chaplaincy Services Branch, Medical Services Branch and Welfare Branch are providing support to the family members and colleagues of Cooke.
The police report that about 3:30 a.m., Cooke was driving a Nissan Wingroad in the direction of Savanna-la-Mar.
On reaching a section of the roadway, the driver of a Toyota Noah motor car that was travelling in the opposite direction failed to keep left and collided with Cooke, according to the police.
The police were alerted, and Cooke was removed from the vehicle with the assistance of the fire department.
He was assisted to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Constable Cooke last served at the Frome Police Station in Westmoreland.
