Man arrested over seizure of ammunition in St James

A man was arrested on Friday night after police in St James seized 39 rounds of ammunition during an operation in Appleton Hall.

The police report that about 9:30 p.m., a team responded to explosions heard in the area and searched a premises.

During the search, a bag containing thirty-nine .38 cartridges was allegedly found, a police statement said.

The man was arrested in connection with the seizure.

The police say his identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
