Portmore cabbie charged for stabbing death of fellow taxi driver

A Portmore, St Catherine taxi operator has been charged for the stabbing death of a fellow cabbie.

Charged with murder is 33-year-old Lloyd Armstrong, otherwise called 'Juju Frass', of Gregory Park.

The deceased is 45-year-old Damion Lawrence, otherwise called 'Trainer', a taxi operator of Eltham Park in Spanish Town, St Catherine.

The incident occurred on Friday, July 25, 2025 in Portmore.

Reports from the Portmore police are that about 6:15 p.m., Lawrence and Armstrong were involved in an argument, following which Armstrong allegedly used a knife to inflict several stab wounds to Lawrence’s upper body.

Lawrence was assisted to hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment.

An investigation was launched.

The police say Armstrong later turned himself in, in the presence of his attorney, and was subsequently charged.

His court date is being finalised.
