Bradshaw, accused in murder of Paulwell's daughter, allegedly assaulted in custody

Leoda Bradshaw, who is accused of murdering a 10-month-old baby and her mother, was allegedly assaulted while in custody at the Bridgeport lock-up in Portmore, St Catherine.

Bradshaw appeared as the complainant in the assault case, which came before Parish Judge Venise Blackstock-Murray in the St Catherine Parish Court on Wednesday.

The matter was postponed to January 23.

Reports indicate that Bradshaw was allegedly physically attacked by a female inmate, Kilfer Gilchrist, during her detention. Gilchrist was present in court.

Bradshaw remains in custody in connection with the 2023 murders of Toshyna Patterson, 27 and and 10-month-old Sarayah Paulwell, who was the daughter of People's National Party Member of Parliament, Phillip Paulwell,

Bradshaw, a former US Navy officer, who shares a child with Paulwell, is charged with two counts each of capital murder, conspiracy to murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy to kidnapping.

The child and her mother were reportedly abducted from their home on Gilmour Drive in St Andrew on September 9, 2023.

They were allegedly taken to east Kingston, shot and killed, and their bodies burned.

Prosecutors have alleged that Bradshaw was the mastermind behind the killings.

A possible trial period of September 26 to November 23 has been set.
