‘Baseless and Fictitious’: National Security Ministry refutes Chang hospitalisation claims

The Ministry of National Security is refuting claims that Portfolio Minister Dr Horace Chang, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, is hospitalised.

“The Minister did not suffer a health emergency, and such rumours are baseless and fictitious,” the ministry said in a statement on Friday.

Noting that Chang underwent elective surgery in late 2025, the ministry said he has been recovering well since being discharged.

“In expressing appreciation to concerned Jamaicans, the Security and Peace Minister reiterated that he is ‘fine and recovering well’,” the statement added.

The ministry said he stands with the Government in the fight against the spread of misinformation and disinformation shared with the intent of misleading and distracting the public.
