Man charged after gun fired during Westmoreland bar dispute - police

A 29-year-old Westmoreland man has been charged with multiple firearm-related offences after he allegedly fired shots from a gun during a dispute at a bar the parish in November last year.
The accused is Skywaynie Robinson, otherwise called ‘Bazzel’, a labourer of Miller Hill in the Berkshire district.
He has been charged with assault at common law, using a firearm to commit a scheduled offence, possession of a firearm with intent to injure, and discharging a firearm in a public place.
According to reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police, at about 11:00 p.m. on November 7, Robinson was at the establishment when an argument developed after the proprietor requested payment before serving additional drinks.
During the dispute, Robinson allegedly issued threats and brandished a handgun. He was escorted from the premises by other patrons, and while outside, he reportedly discharged two rounds into the air before leaving the area in a motor vehicle.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police and a statement recorded, the police said.
Following investigations, Robinson was apprehended during a police operation in his community on Monday 12.
