St Ann wanted man ‘Blackhead’ fatally shot by police in St Andrew

A man who the police say was wanted in St Ann was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with cops on Jacques Road in St Andrew on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Devar Hodges, otherwise known as ‘Blackhead’ and ‘Skeddo’, of Browns Town, St Ann.
The police say he was featured several times on the JCF’s Wanted Wednesdays campaign.
According to the police, about 5:30 a.m. lawmen from the Kingston East Division, the Operational Support Team and the Specialised Operations Branch conducted an intelligence-driven operation, during which Hodges was fatally shot during a confrontation at a premises.
The police say a nine millimetre pistol and nine rounds of ammunition were seized during the incident.
They say the matter was reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations and the police’s Inspectorate of Professional Standards Oversight Bureau.
