A St Catherine man charged with receiving a stolen cow was freed on Wednesday after the complainant indicated that he no longer wished to pursue the matter.

Mark Queensborough was discharged during an appearance before the St Catherine Parish Court.

Judge Genetta Smikle freed him after the clerk of court told the court that the complainant submitted a statement expressing no further interest in the proceedings.

It was alleged that on March 3, 2025, the complainant tied his cattle and later discovered that a cow valued at $80,000 was missing.

Investigations later revealed that Queensborough had reportedly purchased the cow for $35,000 from another man.

A report was made to the Linstead police, and following investigations, Queensborough was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.

He had made several court appearances before the matter was discontinued.
