Man fatally shot by police in St Andrew, residents stage protest

A fiery roadblock mounted along Red Hills Road in St Andrew by residents protesting a fatal police shooting on September 16, 2026.

A man known by his alias ‘Mad Dog’ was shot and killed by the police on Karl Samuda Avenue in St Andrew this morning.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting have not yet been ascertained.
In response, angry residents of the area mounted a fiery protest along sections of Red Hills Road.
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the incident.
As of September 13, some 215 people have been killed by the security forces in alleged confrontations.
