The Wolmer’s Boys’ Auditorium was transformed into a showcase of discipline and physique last Saturday as the Mayberry JABBFA National Senior Championship crowned its 2026 champions before a packed audience of patrons, families and fitness enthusiasts.

The championship, staged under the theme Investing in Excellence, Building Champions, once again benefited from the continued title sponsorship of Mayberry Investments Limited (MIL), which has supported the event since 2022.

Competitors from gyms across the island battled in 14 categories, with the evening culminating in the crowning of three overall champions. Nicolas Wilson of New Level Gym, who won the Bodybuilding Middleweight class, went on to secure the Bodybuilding Overall title. Shaquille Bowen of Classic Body Fitness, winner of the Men’s Physique Tall Class, was named Men’s Physique Overall champion. Monique Trenchfield of Island Body Fitness, who captured the Women’s Bikini Fitness Tall Class title, was crowned Women’s Bikini Fitness Overall champion.

Malik Griffiths of Raw Ground Training enjoyed a standout night across multiple divisions, taking top honours in Classic Bodybuilding, Men’s Physique Muscular and Bodybuilding Lightweight. Treshawna Hutchinson of Fit Farm Fitness Club also completed a double, winning both the Women’s Fit Model category and the Women’s Bikini Fitness Short Class title.

Discipline and sacrifice

In the remaining categories, Cecil Beacon of Iron Beach Gym won Bodybuilding Masters, while Naima Stennett claimed Women’s Bikini Fitness Masters. Shania Daley of Express Fitness 24/7 captured the Women’s Body Fitness title, and Deandra Williams of NRG Fitness won Women’s Physique. Mario Watson of Fit Farm Fitness Club took the Men’s Physique Short Class title, while Lissan Wallace of Spot On Fitness topped the Women’s Bikini Wellness category. Completing the weight divisions, Franz Collins of Express Fitness 24/7 captured the Bodybuilding Heavyweight crown.

“Every athlete who stepped onto that stage on Saturday represented months, and in many cases years, of discipline and sacrifice. Mayberry Investments Limited is proud to have stood behind this championship since 2022, and prouder still to see that investment reflected in the calibre of competition we witnessed this weekend,” said Desiree Wheeler, marketing manager at Mayberry Investments Limited.

Saturday’s championship followed the July 30 launch of the competition at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston, where Mayberry reaffirmed its commitment to the sport with a $1 million sponsorship pledge.

Mayberry Investments Limited said it looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Jamaica Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (JABBFA), congratulating this year’s champions and every athlete who competed for helping to elevate the standard of bodybuilding and fitness in Jamaica.
